PEACOCKS PARTNERS WITH RETAILERS CANCER RESEARCH UK TO RAISE THOUSANDS FOR LIFE-SAVING RESEARCH
Peacocks has officially announced a partnership with Cancer Research UK, which aims to raise £100,000 for the charity’s work to beat cancer in the forthcoming year.
This will be the first official charity partnership for Peacocks in the last 3 years, with the brand supporting Cancer Research UK’s research both through employee fundraising projects, as well as in stores through the sale of Cancer Research UK branded products. The partnership will support Cancer Research UK through fundraising and awareness, and will also support Stand Up To Cancer and Race for Life. By raising £100,000, Peacocks aim to support Cancer Research UK’s core aim, to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
This May, Peacocks kick-started the partnership at cycling event, the Wales Velothon. 16 Peacocks employees, headed up by director Andy Wood, competed in the race across Cardiff’s countryside, raising £10,000 in donations for Cancer Research UK, and hitting a tenth of the company’s fundraising target.
In addition, Peacocks will support Cancer Research UK in raising awareness of the lifestyle factors associated with cancer. By promoting Cancer Research UK’s cancer prevention messaging to both employees and customers, Peacocks will support Cancer Research UK in its aim to make more people aware that 4 in 10 cancers can be prevented through lifestyle changes.
