The past two years have been a rollercoaster ride, and it looks like it’s not slowing down anytime soon. So what better time is there to sit down and set out how you’re going to recharge in 2022.
Here are a few ways the team here at Peacocks are looking to set 2022 right.
Try new smoothie recipes
Time to dig out that blender from the back of the cupboard!
Getting your five a day in couldn’t be easier. With so many smoothie recipes available online, it’s a great one to begin with.
An all-time favourite in the office is this two-minute breakfast smoothie with banana, oats, fruit, milk and honey. Our team are looking at trying a new one each week, so if you have any suggestions send them our way!
Dust off the crafting kits
You know that lockdown phase you went through when you thought you’d get into crochet (or was that just us)? Well it might be time to pick it up again.
Crafting can be a great way to take your mind off things, keep your hands busy and be really rewarding when you finish a project.
There’s so much you can choose from; crochet, knitting, embroidery, and painting by numbers…the list is endless.
Take up running
There’s a reason why it’s one of the most practiced sports worldwide. Why not join the thousands of people who take up running as a new year’s resolution.
It’s free, you can do it anywhere and it burns more calories than most other exercises of the same type. According to the NHS, “Regular running can reduce your risk of long-term illnesses, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and stroke. It can also boost your mood and keep your weight under control.”
Pull-on your new gym leggings and chuck on your running shoes and we’ll see you out there!

We couldn’t agree more. This year many of us here at Peacocks are setting reading challenges to complete a certain number of books within the year.
If you’re competitive (like us) you can track your progress on apps like Storygraph where you also leave reviews, get recommendations and link up with friends to see what they’re reading.

Set aside “me time”
We all get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life and often skip taking that extra time to focus on ourselves.
In 2022 set aside even just 10 minutes a day. Have a cup of tea and enjoy some peace, let yourself have a little bit longer in bed on the weekend.
Our favourite ways to relax include a hot bath with lots of bubbles and a book, going for a walk on a crisp morning and sitting outside to have lunch.
Even the smallest break can make a big difference to your day.
Stretch and release with Yoga
Yoga has been practiced for over 5,000 years and helps improve your balance, strength and flexibility.
With more than 100 different types, you’ll be able to find what suits you best.
During the pandemic, a world of online yoga classes opened up. Our favourites include Yoga with Adrienne, a free YouTube channel that has videos for beginners to advanced sessions.
